Biography

2007 Outdoors:  Continued to be one of the top hammer throwers in the region... took third at the IC4As (5/12) in the hammer throw with a toss of 62.25m... took first in hammer throw in at Penn Relays (4/28) with a mark of 61.13m... grabbed second in hammer throw at MAAC Outdoor Championships with a toss of 61.28m... posted a second place mark of 58.61m at the Metropolitan Outdoor Championships (4/21).

2006-07 Indoors...garnered fourth place with a hammer throw of 59.91m at the Sam Howell Invitational (4/6).

 

2006-07 Indoors:  Finished second in the weight throw at the MAAC Indoor Championships (2/16) with a mark of 18.06m; in same meet finished fourth in shot put with a mark of 14.69m... grabbed a sixth place in weight throw at prestigious Millrose Games (2/2) with a toss of 17.40... finished fourth in weight throw at Metropolitan Indoor Championships (1/21) with a mark of 16.70.

 

2006 Outdoor:  Experienced the best outdoor season of his career, earning his first trip to the NCAA Championships and also winning the IC4A Championship in the hammer... at the IC4A’s (5/13) in Princeton, he won the title with a top throw of 63.96m... claimed tenth overall with a throw of 63.66m in the preliminary round of the NCAA Championships (6/7) to earn a berth in the finals (6/9) where he would again finish 10th overall (63.63m)... in his final tune-up before the national meet, he set a personal record of 64.51m at West Point (6/2)... secured an automatic bid to the NCAA Championships by placing fifth in the hammer at the NCAA East Region Championships with a mark of 62.98m... finished second to only teammate Zoran Loncar in the hammer (60.26m) at the Metropolitan Championships (4/21)... was on the back end of Manhattan’s 1-2-3-4 finish in the hammer at the MAAC Championships (5/6) where he also scored in the shot put and discus... opened the season with a mark of 63.22m at ASU’s Baldy Castillo Invitational (3/18).

 

2005-06 Indoor:  Set a new personal best en route to winning his first conference title at the MAAC Championships (2/17)... he dethroned teammate Mike Freeman of his MAAC weight throw crown by registering a mark of 19.81m... claimed bronze in the weight throw (19.36m) at the IC4A Championships (3/3)... finished third in the weight with a mark of 18.29m at the Metropolitan Championships (2/5)... qualified for the IC4A Championships in the weight throw on the first day of the season with a mark of 18.74m at the Manhattan Opener (12/1).

 

2005 Outdoor:  Was part of Manhattan’s historic, record-breaking 1-2-3-4 finish in the hammer throw at the IC4A Championships (2/15/05), finishing third with a throw of over 200 feet (62.28m)... also took third in the hammer throw (59.84m) at the Metropolitan Championships (4/16/05), only finishing behind Anders Constantin and Zoran Loncar... finished fourth in the shot put (14.58m) at the MAAC Championships (5/7/05)... opened the season at the Baldy Castillo Invitational (3/19/05) with a fourth place performance in the hammer throw at 60.69m... at Princeton’s Sam Howell Invitational (4/8/05), he threw his way to fifth in the hammer throw (57.35m) and tenth in the shot put (14.62m)

 

2004-05 Indoor:  IC4A Championship qualifier... Finished fourth in the weight throw (17.20m) at the Metropolitan Championships (1/30/05) with only Manhattan teammates Zoran Loncar, Mike Freeman, and Anders Constantin finishing ahead of him... also took fifth place in the shot put at Mets with a heave of 15.02m... captured fourth place in the weight throw (17.53m) and fifth in the shot put (14.31m)at the MAAC Championships (2/18/05) as well... on the first day of the season at the Manhattan Opener (12/1/04), he took second in the shot put (15.26m) and finished fourth amongst collegiate entries in the weight throw (18.12m)... earned fourth place in the weight throw (18.84m) and the sixth spot in the shot put (15.29m) at Princeton’s New Year’s Invitational (12/5/04)... his heave of 15.09m took fourth at the Fordham Invitational (1/7/05)... finished third in the weight throw (17.99m) at Army’s Black Knight Invitational (1/15/05)... threw 14.81m in the shot put at the Manhattan Invitational (1/22/05).

 

Before Manhattan: Competed on the 2001 Australia National Team, who were U-18 World Champions, where he finished 10th in the Shot Put... his 2002 National Team, U-20, were World Champions and he competed in the Shot Put and Hammer Throw... he currently holds the U-19 National Shot Put record... in 2003 he was the Shot Put Champion at the U-20 National Championship and was the runner-up for the Hammer Throw... was honored with High Distinction from 1997-2000 in National Geography and German for his academic success... he also earned Distinction honors for English.
