2006 Summer: Competing at the Norwich Union AAA Championships, Newman set a new outdoor personal record of 7.31m in the long jump to claim fifth place in all of Great Britain.
2006 Outdoor: Captured his second consecutive Metropolitan Outdoor (4/21/06) crown in the long jump (7.15m), leading a 1-2-3 Manhattan sweep of the event... at the MAAC Championships (5/6/06), he scored with a second-place finish in the long jump (6.96m) and a fourth-place finish in the triple jump (13.97m)... finished 10th in the long jump (7.08m) at the IC4A Championships (5/13/06)... claimed third place in the long jump (7.03m) at the UNLV Invite (4/1/06)... posted a season-best triple jump mark of 14.69m at Princeton’s Sam Howell Invitational (4/7/06).
2005-06 Indoor: Set a new personal record in the long jump (7.40m) at the Metropolitan Championships (2/5/06) en route to winning the individual crown for the second straight year... also completed a 1-2-3 Manhattan sweep of the triple jump at the Mets, claiming third with a leap of 14.22m... posted two top-four finishes at the MAAC Championships (2/17/06)... came within three centimeters of winning the conference long jump crown, taking second only to teammate Dexter Jules with a mark of 7.24m, while taking fourth place in the triple jump (13.92)... was the runner-up in the long jump (7.17m) at Boston University’s Valentine Invitational (2/10/06)... jumped 7.34m, a new PR at the time, in the long jump to take first place at the Fordham Invitational (1/6/06)... posted his best triple jump performance of the season at the Manhattan Opener (12/1/05) with a mark of 14.71m.
2005 Outdoor: Followed up his Metropolitan Indoor long jump crown with winning the outdoor title as well with a leap of 6.98m... also scored in the triple jump at Mets (4/16/05), taking third place at 13.87m... earned valuable team points at the MAAC Championships (5/7/05) by scoring a third place finish in the long jump (6.81m) and taking fourth in the triple jump (13.52m)...opened the season at the Baldy Castillo Invitational (3/19/05) and took seventh in the long jump (6.80m)... at Princeton’s Sam Howell Invitational, he was fourth in the long jump by reaching 7.02m.
2004-05 Indoor: IC4A Qualifier and MAAC Champion... jumped his way to the MAAC Individual Championship (2/18/05) in the long jump with a mark of 7.08m... also scored in the triple jump at the MAAC meet taking fourth place (14.50m), while finishing 11th in the 200m dash (23.38s)... won the Metropolitan long jump crown (1/30/05) by leaping 7.08m... also scored in the triple jump at the Mets by recording a second place finish (14.57m)... finished third in the long jump with a leap of 7.00m early on in the season at Princeton’s New Year’s Invitational (12/5/04)... captured the long jump crown at the Fordham Invitational (1/7/05) with a mark of 7.20m... at the Manhattan Invitational (1/22/05), he captured the long jump title (7.14m) and finished second in the triple jump (14.40m)... took third place in the long jump (6.98m), while also finishing seventh in the triple jump (13.49m) at the NYU Invitational (2/25/05)... finished tenth in the long jump (6.79m) and 18th in the triple jump (13.76m) at the IC4A Championships (3/5/05).
Before Manhattan: At Tiffin University, he recorded a personal best long jump of 7.16m and his leap of 14.31m is his personal record for the triple jump... he also can run a 22.21 200m... at Durham Academy in the UK, played basketball and averaged 17 points per game.
