Biography

2006 Outdoor:  Competed at the NCAA Championships (6/7/06) in the hammer throw for the second time in three years, finishing 17th in the nation with a top throw of 61.70m... claimed fourth place in the hammer throw (63.17m) at the NCAA East Region Meet (5/27/06), the largest of the nation’s four regions, to earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Championships... only teammate Paul Peulich prevented the 2005 IC4A Hammer Champion Loncar from repeating at the 2006 IC4A Championships (5/13/06), where Loncar’s top mark of 62.43m made him the runner-up... his throw of 64.50m (211’ 8”) was his second best of the season and placed him third at the Penn Relays (4/27/06)... won his second consecutive MAAC Hammer Championship with a top mark of 63.32m and also placed fourth in the discus (45.40m) at the conference championships... his best mark of the season in the hammer came at Arizona State’s season-opening Baldy Castillo Invitational (3/18/06), where his throw of 64.97m (213’ 2”) led a 1-2-3-4 Jasper sweep of the event... he also competed in the discus at the Baldy, posting a mark of 43.55m.

 

2005-06 Indoor:  Completed a one through four Manhattan sweep in the weight throw at the Metropolitan Championships (2/5/06) by posting his top mark of the season (17.92m)... was one of four Jaspers to score in the weight at the IC4A Championships (3/5/06), earning All-East honors with his seventh place throw of 17.78m... at Nebraska’s Adidas Classic, he claimed sixth place in the weight with a mark of 17.55m.

 

2005 Outdoor:  Won the IC4A Championship (5/15/05) in the hammer throw as he led the way for Manhattan’s record-breaking 1-2-3-4 finish in the event with a top throw of 63.15m... earned the MAAC Championship in the hammer throw with a toss of 63.38m... also logged a second place finish in the discus at the MAAC meet (5/7/05)... opened the season by capturing second place in the hammer throw (62.13m) at the Baldy Castillo Invitational (3/19/05), finishing only behind Garland Porter of Tennessee... finished first amongst collegiate entries in the hammer throw (61.31m) at Princeton’s Sam Howell Invitational (4/8/05)... competed in the hammer throw at the prestigious Penn Relays, taking fifth place with a mark of 60.72m.

 

2004-05 Indoor:  Crowned the Metropolitan Champion (1/30/05) in the weight throw for his heave of 19.79m... took second place in the weight throw (19.66m) at the MAAC Championships (2/18/05)... finished third at the IC4A Championships (3/5/05) in weight throw (19.60m)... captured first place in the weight throw with a season-best heave of 20.10m at the Fordham Invitational (1/7/05)... finished second in the weight throw (18.59m) at Army’s Black Knight Invitational (1/15/05)... opened the indoor season with a throw of 18.49m for a fourth place finish at the Manhattan Opener (12/1/04).

 

2004 Outdoor: Finished fifth in the Hammer Throw after his toss of 58.94m at the Baldy Castillo

Invitational (3/19/04)... at the Dick Shea Open (3/27/04) he placed second in the Hammer (60.59m)... captured first place in the Hammer Throw at the Columbia Invitational (4/8/04) after his toss of 54.40m... placed second in both the Hammer Throw (61.70m) and the Discus (47.44m) at the Metropolitan Championships (4/16/04)... at the Penn Relays (4/22/04) he placed third in the Hammer Throw (63.88m)... finished first in the Discus (45.98m) and second in the Hammer Throw (61.10m) at the MAAC Championships (5/1/04)... captured second place in the Hammer Throw at the IC4A Championships (5/11/04) after his toss of 62.86m and finished 15th in the Discus (47.08m)... placed sixth at the East Regionals (5/28/04) throwing the hammer 62.14m.

 

2003-04 Indoor: Captured second place in the Weight Throw after his toss of 18.26m at the Manhattan Pentathlon, Heptathlon and Throws (12/1/03)... finished fourth at the Princeton New Year’s Invitational (12/7/03) throwing the weight 18.06m... at the Army Invitational (1/24/04) he finished third after throwing the weight 18.15m... captured second place in the Weight Throw (17.74m) at the Metropolitan Championships (2/7/04)... crowned MAAC Weight Throw Champion after throwing the weight 19.15m at the MAAC Championships (2/20/04)... finished fourth at the IC4A Championships (3/6/04) after his weight throw toss of 18.10m.

 

Before Manhattan: Three-time Serbian National Champion in the hammer throw as a high schooler.

 

Personal: Majoring in finance... born on December 12, 1980... son of Dragan and Nada Loncar... one sibling, Vladimir Loncar.
