Before Manhattan: Capping off a distinguished high school career, he won the Massachusetts Shot Put Championship as a senior... finished first in the shot put at the Class C Championships with a throw of 54'7" and then went on to capture the state crown with a heave of 57'3"... he also brought home a fourth place finish (54'5") in the shot from the New England Championships... captured the Class C Title in the discus as well with a toss of 144'8"... finished fourth overall in the state with his discus mark of 158'1"... as a junior, he finished third in the Class C shot put field, while taking sixth overall in Massachusetts... he earned a sixth place finish in Class C as a sophomore shot putter... was a Patriot League All-Star in 2004 and 2005 for both indoor and outdoor... named a 2005 All-Scholastic athlete by both the Boston Globe and Boston Herald also had success on the gridiron, as he helped his high school team to the Division 2A Superbowl... also earned the right to play in the Shriner's Burn Hospital All-Star Game.
