RIVERDALE, N.Y. – Senior
Grace Lipponer will play the 2022 IWLCA Senior All-Star Game, announced by the organization on Wednesday.
Lipponer will be on the South team in the North-South All-Star Game, which will take place on Sunday, June 5, at Tierney Field at USA Lacrosse Headquarters in Sparks, Md. The Division I game is scheduled for 12:45 p.m. and will be the second game of a tripleheader, with the Division III game preceding it and the Division II game following.
In 2022, Lipponer established new Manhattan single-season records for goals (63), assists (34), and points (97). The attack also paced 100 career goals this past season. In 2022, the senior had multiple goals in 18 of Manhattan's 19 games and had a season-high six against Quinnipiac.
The Lake Grove, N.Y. native was named First Team All-MAAC and helped the Jaspers collect their first MAAC Tournament win since 2005 against Niagara, 16-15 in triple overtime, in the opening round. Against Niagara, Lipponer scored the game-tying goal with seconds to play in regulation before securing the game-winner for the Jaspers.
Lipponer is joined by two other players from the MAAC, Kelly Horning of Fairfield and Nicole McNeely from Siena. On Sunday, Sonia LaMonica, Towson's head coach, will serve as the South's head coach.
