Aiken, SC – The Manhattan men's golf team has completed its first invitational of the 2018 spring season, participating in the Palmetto Invitational.
The tournament was hosted by USC-Aiken and wrapped up on March 6. The Jaspers were among 18 teams to participate.
Senior
Jon Keyes (Bayport, NY / Bayport-Blue Point) was Manhattan's top team finisher, carding a +17 through the three rounds.
Preston Shortell (Oxford, CT / Holy Cross) had the best individual round for a Jasper, recording a 71 in the second round. The sophomore was particularly effective in the first two rounds on par 3 holes, which he ended up finishing for par after Day One.
Manhattan entered the spring slate ranked fourth in the MAAC Preseason Poll, earning two first-place votes.
The Jaspers travel further down south to Palm City, FL for the Fox Club Shootout, which takes place from Monday, March 12 to Tuesday, March 13. Manhattan is designated as the host for the event.
