West Orange, NJ – Senior
Johnny Schob (Huntington, NY / Salisbury School) finished tied for fifth, classmate
Connor O'Rourke (Juptier, FL / FAU) placed tenth and Manhattan wrapped up the Metropolitan Intercollegiate Championship with a fourth place finish.
The Jaspers carded a 300 on Monday, October 15 and a 304 the following day to record a 604 score across two rounds. Manhattan tied with FDU for fourth and finished two strokes ahead of MAAC rival Monmouth, who was sixth at 605.
Schob notched a 72 (+2) on each round to finish four-over par for the tournament. His 144 overall score was even with Saint Francis Brooklyn's Alexander Lising-White at fifth place. O'Rourke ended round one at 75 (+5), but improved on Tuesday with a 73 (+3) to grab the tenth spot.
Sophomore
Preston Shortell (Oxford, CT / Holy Cross) was 15-over par for the tournament. Seniors
Ryan Lynch (Boynton Beach, FL / Park Vista) and
Charles Seward (Tampa, FL / Freedom) were 18-over par and 27-over par, respectively. Senior
Jon Keyes (Bayport, NY / Bayport-Blue Point) competed as an individual and finished 12-over par with a 78 and 74 in the two rounds.
Central Connecticut State won the tournament with a team score of 586 (+26). The Blue Devils' Anthony Sebastianelli was the individual champion, shooting a 138 (-2) to finish as the only player below par.
Manhattan wraps up the 2017 slate of their schedule with the three-day Old Dominion University Kilmarlic Invitational in Powells Point, NC. The tournament begins Sunday, October 22 and lasts until Tuesday, October 24.
