EASTON, Pa. - After sitting just one stroke outside the top-10, the Manhattan men's golf team shot a combined 313 on Day Two of the Lafayette Invitational. Their two-day score of 626 was good for 10th place out of 19 total schools.
Chris Calabro was the low scorer for the Jaspers on Monday shooting a one over 73 at the Northampton Country Club. His combined score of 151 earned him a tie for 16th place overall. Meanwhile, Paul Toohey stumbled after his opening round 76 to shoot an 80 on the second day placing in a tied for 33rd.
Matthew Creamer also posted an 80 on the second day of competition, following his opening round score of 80. The 160 combined score had him in a tie for 56th place. James Edgeworth finished an 82 on Monday for a total score of 161 (t-61st) and Jonathan Feuer finished tied for 70th after a second round score of 80 following his 82 on Sunday.
Freshman Michael Giannico, competing unattached to the team, placed 14th overall following a brilliant second round. After a Sunday score of 79, the rookie shot a one-under 71 for a total score of 150. His performance was the best out of all those competing unattached.
Lehigh won the team title with a combined score of 597 while Drexel's Christopher Crawford took home the individual crown shooting a 143 over two days.
The Jaspers are next in action on Sun., April 13, when they take part in the 2013 Last Chance Classic hosted by Army at the West Point Golf Course.
