WEST POINT, N.Y. - The Manhattan men's golf team sent five players to the United States Military Academy at West Point to participate in the "2013 Last Chance Classic" on Sunday. A one-day 36-hole tournament saw five different Jaspers place in the top-20 in the individual only event.
Paul Toohey paced all golfers with a combined score of 153. He shot an opening round 75 before following that up with an eight-over 78 at the West Point Golf Club. His score was good for fifth overall, behind three Army golfers and Nicholas Dilio of Saint Peter's.
Senior Matthew Creamer finished in a tie for 11th after a tournament score of 156. Creamer opened the day with a score of 75 prior to a disappointing 81 in his second round. He was followed by teammate Chris Calabro who finished one stroke behind him. After starting the day with a three-over 73, Calabro shot an 84 in the next roud fro a combined 157 tournament score.
Freshman Ross Ketner bounced back nicely after his morning round of 81 with a 77 in the second. His overall score of 158 tied for 14th. Jonathan Feuer also competed for Manhattan, tying for 19th with a total score of 162 (83 and 79).
