RIVERHEAD, N.Y. - The Manhattan men's golf team used an impressive day two, shaving a combined five strokes off their day one total, to finish 12th out of 17 teams at this weekends Dowling College September Shootout at the Long Island National Golf Club.
Jonathan Feuer paced the Jaspers performance with a combined score of 156 in the two day event. Feuer was able to improve is first round total of 82 by eight strokes on day two. Freshman James Edgeworth stumbled on Saturday after an opening round 78 by adding six strokes and finishing with a toal score of 162.
Chris Calabro also shot a 162 at the tournament, posting 81's on both days. Michael Giannico and Paul Toohey each finished with socres of 165 and 168 respectively.
The team score of 643 was good enough for 12th overall as the host school Dowling College and Adelphi each tied for team lead. Manhattan is next in action at the Nyack College Fall Classic in Middletown, N.Y. next weekend.
