Manhattan and the MAAC Tournament: This marks the Lady Jaspers' seventh MAAC Tournament appearance. Since the MAAC went to a tournament in the 2000 season, Manhattan has missed the playoffs just once, finishing just out of a playoff spot in fifth place in the 2003 season. The Lady Jaspers are 6-3 all-time in the MAAC Tournament.
All-time record:
Manhattan is in its 11th season of women's lacrosse. The Lady Jaspers' overall record is 69-98 (.413) entering the MAAC Tournament.
You CAN Go Home Again:
Third-year head coach Jim Drivas has prior connections to Manhattan College, as he earned his physical education and heath teaching certification from MC in 1991. Drivas returned to Manhattan after coaching the girls' lacrosse team at Tappan Zee HS for nine years. Four of his former players are currently suiting up for the Lady Jaspers, as juniors Jillian McGowan and Suzanne Tiffany, sophomore Julie Wilson, and freshman Allison Brown all graduated from Tappan Zee HS.
Leaving Their Mark:
The six Manhattan seniors; Ashley Devins, Katelyn Williams, Jenny Carman, Pat Karellas, Lauren Civardi, and Brenna Tinari, have combined to help the Kelly Green to 32 wins, becoming the winningest class in program history in the process. These seniors helped the Lady Jaspers to a school record 11 wins in 2004, and a school record six MAAC wins in 2005. This group led Manhattan to the 2004 MAAC Tournament Championship, and went one further in 2005, winning both the MAAC Regular Season AND MAAC Tournament Championships.
