RIVERDALE, N.Y. - We are inching towards the start of the Fall 2023 season for the Manhattan College golf team. Head coach Keith Prokop enters his 2nd year at the helm. The Jaspers return five seniors, one sophomore, and welcome six freshmen. The team is extremely excited to kick things off this year and to show off their development within the program.
The Veterans
This young group will be led by senior leaders Colby Norton and Max Levine who competed in last year's MAAC Championship along with Finbar Bonner, Ashley Sewell and Tyler Nguyen. The seniors this year will play a huge role, not only in competition but to shape the young Jaspers for the future of the program. Lone sophomore Dimitri Mihelakos looks to continue his strong spring semester into this upcoming fall season.Â
The Rookies
The Jaspers golf team has players from all around the country and world coming into Riverdale this year to represent the school at the highest level. Walter Carley comes in from Canada, Luca Del Canale from Belgium, Patrik Vinter from the Czech Republic, Akshay Mandadapu from Texas, Arav Tank from New Jersey and Luke O'Grady-Rodgers, a local from New York.Â
Quote
"We are extremely excited to start up this new year. We have a great balance of experience and youth this year with 5 seniors and 6 freshmen with one sophomore. The team is extremely deep this year and the competition internally will be extremely tough which should get us ready for every event this year. We are looking forward to building off of the improvement of last year, integrate the freshman class to what it's like to be a Jasper and continue our journey of becoming the best version of ourselves both in the classroom, in the community and on the course." - Coach Prokop
