BALTIMORE, M.D. - Manhattan College dropped a road contest to Loyola University Maryland 3-0. The loss lowers Manhattan's record to 1-2, and raises Loyola's to 3-2.
Olivia Quaranta got the scoring started with a goal in the 10th minute, assisted by Baylee DeSmit. In what served to be a strong defensive half, the 1-0 score held through the first forty-five. Loyola built on their lead with a 56th minute strike off the foot of Delaney DeMartino. Scoring wrapped up in the 88th minute when Abby Wood recorded a goal assisted by Julia Hellencamp.
The Jaspers were led in the net by goalkeeper Margaret Brunk. She recorded seven saves in ten attempts. Olivia McMaster, Samantha D'Angelo, and Brooke Zimmer each recorded a shot for the Jaspers.
As a team, the Jaspers recorded three corner kicks and had two shots on goal.
Manhattan returns to the pitch on Sunday, September 3 with a 11 a.m. for their 2023 home opener against Long Island University.
