Box Score RIVERDALE, N.Y. - The Manhattan women's soccer team hosted LIU this afternoon at Gaelic Park for its home opener. The Jaspers drew a 0-0 the against the Sharks.
It was a back-and-forth game in the first period with neither team being able to get the ball in the net. The ball was kicked far and wide with LIU leading the way in shots 5-4.
The second half saw much of the same movement. Both teams picked up the pace, but neither team was able to tally a goal, leaving the game at a 0-0 draw after 90 minutes.
The Jaspers were led in the net by goalkeeper
Margaret Brunk, who recorded two saves in the first period and four in the second period for a total of six for the match.
As a team, the Jaspers recorded three corner kicks and had two shots on goal.
The Jaspers remain at home as they welcome Sacred Heart on Thursday, Sept. 7 at 7 p.m.
