RIVERDALE, N.Y. – Five goals from Juliana Iovine and five other goal scores lifted Manhattan past Marist 14-12 under the lights on Wednesday at Gaelic Park.
Iovine opened the scoring for Manhattan (8-4, 2-1 MAAC) less than two minutes in and completed her hat trick before halftime. Iovine's second and third goals were part of a four-goal run for the Jaspers to start the second quarter.
The scoring run gave the Jaspers a 7-4 lead, and it was a lead they would not relinquish.
The teams combined for nine goals in the third quarter. Iovine started the scoring once again for Manhattan with her fourth of the night.
Jillian Reiner capped the scoring in the quarter with 1:13 left to give Manhattan a 12-8 lead.
Marist (2-10, 0-4) cut the lead to two, 12-10, with 9:46 to play on a goal from Delaney Hayes. Megan Rodino scored less than a minute later, and
Grace Lipponer scored the 14
th goal of the night for Manhattan, with 6:43 remaining in the game.

Meghan Rodino, Reiner, and Lipponer scored twice for the Jaspers.
Ashley Gambardella made six saves in goal for Manhattan.
On Saturday, April 9, Manhattan returns to action at 2 p.m. against Quinnipiac. The Jaspers will honor their seniors before the game against the Bobcats.
