FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Manhattan fell 4-1 at Fairfield on Wednesday night in MAAC action.
Manhattan (2-5-2, 0-3-1 MAAC) fell behind early on before
Ianah Mackey tied the game at 1-1 in the 33
rd minute.
The junior's first of the season was assisted by
Maddie Feller. Feller's assist was her first of the season. The pair becomes the sixth and seventh different Jaspers to register a point this season.
Fairfield (9-3, 4-1) retook the lead four minutes later when Maddy Theriault netted her fifth of the season for the Stags.
A pair of goals came for Fairfield in the second half to reach the final margin. Meghan Carragher and Caroline Kelly scored for the home side.
The four goals by Fairfield were the most surrendered this season by the Jaspers in a game. It was only the second time in nine games that Manhattan allowed more than two goals in a game. The Stags held a 21-7 advantage in shots and an 8-3 edge in shots on goal.
Kim Mains got the start in net for the Jaspers and made four saves. The four stops trail only the six Mains made against Sacred Heart.
Manhattan returns to the pitch on Saturday against Iona at Gaelic Park at 12 p.m.
