Box Score (PDF)

Riverdale, NY -
Manhattan registered its second-straight comeback win and third in a row with a 2-1 triumph over Merrimack at Gaelic Park.

* The three-matching winning streak is the best by the Jaspers since claiming four in a row in 2017.

* All three victories have come against Northeast Conference opposition by identical 2-1 scores.

* Merrimack struck first with a goal in the third minute when Molly Murnane broke free on a counterattack and finished Ella Cormier's pass.

* Manhattan would immediately respond in the 13th minute with a counterattack of its own, as senior Eve Montgomery smashed the ball off the crossbar and into the back of the net off junior Jess DiMatteo's entry pass.

* The Jaspers took their first lead of the afternoon in the 39th minute when freshman Julia Nicholas finished to the lower left past the keep on a pass from senior Bri Floyd to give the Green & White a 2-1 lead.

* After halftime, Merrimack had a few opportunities to net an equalizer, but saw a pair of headers go off target, before their final opportunity off a free kick was unable to gain any traction.

* Senior Kim Mains made three saves in earning the victory.

* Nicholas' first collegiate goal would also prove to the game winner.

* Montgomery's score was her second of the season, and the fifth of her career.

* DiMatteo's assist was her first collegiate point, while Floyd's first assist was the third of her career.

* Manhattan is now 3-1-0, while Merrimack falls to 0-5-2.

* The Jaspers posted a 16-15 advantage in shots, with each team putting four on goal.

* On corner kicks, the Warriors held an 8-2 edge.

* The teams have now split with two all-time match-ups, with the Warriors winning by a 5-3 count in 2019.
