Painilainen deposited the game-winning score in the upper right corner of the goal, after junior
Arianna Montefusco (Levittown, NY / General Douglas MacArthur) delivered the ball to the Arizona transfer with a back-tap.
The Jaspers are now 1-4 in the year while the Terriers fall to 0-4.
Senior
Camryn Nici (Seaford, NY / St. Anthony's) made just two saves in recording her first win of the year.
Notes:
* Painilainen's game-winning score is the second goal of her career, and came on her sixth shot on goal of the game.
* Montefusco, who registered her fifth career assist, leads the team with five points and has had a hand in all three Jasper goals this year.
* All four of Montefusco's shots were on goal, including one that was narrowly kept out of the net.
* Nici's three career wins have all come via shutout.
* Nici made an impressive save in the first half on a point-blank shot attempt to keep the game scoreless at the break.
* Manhattan is now 30-1-4 in its last 35 matches dating back to 2014 when scoring first.
* The Jaspers are 29-23-7 at Gaelic Park since the start of the 2012 season.
