Riverdale, NY - Freshman
Kaitlyn Hogan (Monroe, NY / Monroe-Woodbury) scored her first collegiate goal, but it wasn't enough as Manhattan dropped a 3-1 decision to Hartford in non-conference action at Gaelic Park.
The Hawks improve to 3-1 on the season while the Jaspers are now 0-2.
Hartford opened the scoring with a pair of late first-half goals off the foot of Ashley Claud as the visitors opened up a 2-0 advantage at intermission.
After halftime, the Manhattan offense picked up the tempo and scored its first goal of the 2018 season in the 70th minute when Hogan chipped it in from the top of the box off a feed from sophomore
Shelby Jones (Greensville, NC / Junius H. Rose).
The Jaspers continued to attack and appeared poised to draw equal, but were unable to draw any closer. Unfortunately, the Hawks would reclaim their two-goal advantage in the 75th minute as Magalie Kayrouz corralled a loose ball in the box and blasted it into the upper right corner to provide the final 3-1 score.
Senior
Kelly DiGregorio (Centereach, NY / St. Anthony's) made six saves between the pipes while Maia Perez made two stops in earning the win.
