In the 87th minute with the score tied, senior Annie Doerr (Pittsford, NY / Our Lady of Mercy) scored what would prove to be the eventual winning goal off a pass from classmate Nicole Copping (Blue Point, NY / Bayport-Blue Point).

The Dolphins would frantically try to rally, only to be denied by senior Kelly DiGregorio (Centereach, NY / St. Anthony's) just eight seconds later. Jacksonville would have one last opportunity, but had a shot blocked in the 89th minute.

With its first win of the year, Manhattan improves to 1-2 while the Dolphins fall to 0-5.

After the teams played most of the night to a scoreless draw, Jacksonville struck first in the 79th minute with a Kia Jie Jacobs goal.

The score seemed to rejuvenate the Jasper offense as senior Victoria Reis (Rockville Centre, NY / South Side) delivered the equalizer in the 81st minute to tie it up at 1-1.

DiGregorio made three saves in earning the victory while Brittany Hundley made five stops in defeat.

Notes:

* By virtue of the victory, Manhattan has now won three of its last four games in the state of Florida.

* The Jaspers had their third different starting line-up in as many games.

* Copping, DiGregorio, Reis, Caroline Taylor (Sr., Glen Rock, NJ / Glen Rock), Bri DeLeo (So., Harriman, NY / Monroe-Woodbury), Tia Painilainen (So., Espoo, Finland / Arizona) and Olivia Maldonado (Fr., Babylon, NY / Babylon) all started for the third-straight game to start the year.

* Manhattan posted advantages in corner kicks (6-2) and shots on goal (7-4).

* Doerr's goal was the fourth of her career while Reis' equalizer was her second.

* Copping's assist was the ninth of her career.
