Manhattan took on Iona College in their second MAAC match of the weekend.  In the first game, both teams came out strong as the game saw the score tied 10 separate times.  The Lady J's found themselves down three points, 20-17 and started to mount a come back as they soon tied the game at 22.  Manhattan  then pulled away to take a two point lead 27-25 and would not look back as they took the first game 30-27 and lead the match 1-0.

The second game proved to be much like the first as both teams left it all out on the floor.  The game was close but the Lady Jaspers found themselves down 18-14.  Manhattan then scored the next four consecutive points to tie the game at 18 points a piece.  The game went back and forth but Manhattan pulled away in the end 30-26 and now leads the match 2-0.  Junior Andrea Reiff paced the Manhattan offense with 6 kills in the game.

Manhattan was looking for a victory in the third game, to go home with a win, but Iona was not going to let that happen.  Iona came out strong building an eight point lead, 18-10 in the game.  The Lady Jaspers tried to come back, but the deficit proved to be too much as they fell in the third game 30-22, but still lead the match, 2-1.  The Lady J's came out in the fourth game and built a 12-9 lead early in the game.  But the lead slipped away and the Lady Jaspers soon found themselves down 22-20.  Iona would not let Manhattan come back as they took the fourth game 30-27, which forced a fifth and final game.

In the fifth game, the Lady Jaspers were down 9-3.  Manhattan was not going to go without a fight as they soon cut the deficit down to three, 12-9.  In the end, Iona proved to be too strong as they took the fifth game 15-11 and won the match, 3-2.
