JOTANOVIC QUALIFIES FOR NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS

New York, NY (May 28, 2005)- The men's and women's track & field teams competed at the NCAA East Regional Championships today at Icahn Stadium on Randall's Island in New York, NY. Freshman Milan Jotanovic (Teslie, Bosnia-Herzegovina) earned a qualifying throw in the Shot Put to advance to the NCAA Championships that are to be held on Wednesday, June 16 in Sacramento, CA. Jotanovic also broke the school record today with his third place toss of 19.21m.

Junior Marina Liander (Staten Island, NY) was the top finisher for the Lady Jaspers. Liander placed 16th in the Hammer Throw after her toss of 49.95m. Freshman Jasmine Rogers (Ambridge, PA) competed at her first NCAA East Regional today finishing 24th in the 100m Hurdles with a time of 14.25 seconds.

Junior Tyler Raymond (Scotia, NY) and sophomore Joseph Cruz (New York, NY) also competed for the Jaspers today. Raymond finished 25th in the 1500m with a time of 3:53.72 and Cruz took 29th place in the 110m Hurdles finishing in 14.90 seconds.

Day two of the NCAA East Regional begins tomorrow at 12:00 p.m. at Icahn Stadium.
