Riverdale, NY (April 20, 2005)- The Manhattan women's lacrosse team fell to the Drexel Dragons this afternoon at Gaelic Park 17-5. The Lady Jaspers drop to a 5-7 overall record while the Dragons improve to 10-5.
Manhattan's sophomore
Jenny Carman (Freeport, NY) scored the first goal of the game under three minutes into play giving the Lady Jaspers a 1-0 lead. Drexel's sophomore Emily Hoesch tied the game at the 23:07 mark off a pass from sophomore Kerry Kelly. The Dragons took a 2-1 lead with just over twenty minutes left to play in the half when Hoesch assisted junior Colleen Rocks first of five goals. The Lady Jasper's junior
Molly Pheterson (Rochester, NY) answered back just :47 seconds later tying the game at two.
At the 17:18 mark Drexel took the lead again when senior Jennifer Bonini scored an unassisted goal. The game remained scoreless until

Alicia Psillos (Plainview, NY) tying the game 3-3. With 3:29 left to play in the first half Bonini scored again to lift Drexel past Manhattan. At the end of the half the score was 4-3.
Drexel took a nine goal lead in the second half with four goals coming from Rocks. The Jaspers only scored two goals in the second half. Sophomore
Lauren Civardi (Brightwaters, NY) scored with 15:26 remaining off a free position shot and Psillos scored at the 2:47 mark off a pass from sophomore
Brenna Tinari (Holbrook, NY). The Dragon's outscored the Lady J's 13-2 in the second half.

Ashley Devins (Manhasset, NY) recorded 12 saves for the Lady Jaspers while senior Kristen Urian tallied seven saves for Drexel.
Jenny Carman led Manhattan with two goals today. Rocks and Hoesch led the Dragons. Rocks had five goals, and Hoesch had four goals and four assists.
The Lady Jaspers play again on Saturday, April 23 when they travel to Fairfield, CT to take on the Stags at 3:30 p.m.
