Philadelphia, PA (March 13, 2004) - The Lady Jaspers fell to the Drexel Dragons 18-4.
Molly Pheterson (Rochester, NY) was the leading scorer for Manhattan putting two in the net. The Jaspers record drops to 2-2 while the Dragons remain undefeated at 3-0.
Drexel dominated the first half, scoring ten unanswered goals and keeping Manhattan scoreless going into the second half.
Jamie Carter (Williston Park, NY) finally got Manhattan on the board in the second half with an unassisted goal at 23:18. Drexel, however, answered with three more goals by Chrissy Sheehan and Colleen Rocks to make the score 13-1. Pheterson scored off a free position at 15:16 to give the Jaspers two goals but Drexel scored three more to make it 16-2 with 7:38 remaining. The final four goals of the game were scored off of free positions, with each team earning two. Nora Jacquette (Ambler, PA) scored at 4:40, but Sheehan added her fifth goal at 2:37. Manhattan's Pheterson netted the Jasper's fourth and final goal at 1:02. Drexel defender Jennifer Parker finished the scoring with just 52 seconds remaining to make the score 18-4.
The Lady Jaspers are in action again Tuesday, March 23 when they host Wagner at 4 p.m.
