Manhattan who with the win extends their home winning streak to 19, played a back and forth first game eventually capturing the lead at 27-26, and finished the game with a block by
Whitney Judkins and
Krista Thorsen winning, 30-27. The second game included five ties, but Manhattan managed to go on a 3-0 run at the end to hold of the Pirates, 31-29. In game three, Manhattan pulled away from the Pirates with a 10-4 run to end the game, winning the third game, 30-23.

The Pirates (19-11, 2-7 Big East), were led by Katherine Whitney who notched 22 kills and 17 digs with a .260 hitting percentage. Shan Mahmoudi added 16 kills with a .600 hitting percentage, in the loss.
Manhattan is back in action on Saturday, when they head to Lawerenceville, NJ to face MAAC foe Rider at 2 pm. The Lady Jaspers finish out the week in Balitimore, MD against MAAC rival Loyola (MD) on Sunday at 12 pm.
