Riverdale, NY - Manhattan (12-15; 9-9 MAAC) will conclude the home portion of its schedule against rival Iona (17-10; 14-4 MAAC) Friday, February 26 at 7:00 pm on Jack Powers Night.

* Masiello, who holds a career record of 91-68 (58-36 MAAC) set the school-record for MAAC Tourney wins a year ago with his eighth against Iona while breaking ESPN analyst Fran Fraschilla's previous Manhattan mark.
* In his career, Masiello is 66-39 (.629), all-time, against MAAC teams, including going 35-12 (.745) at home and 23-25 (.479) on the road.

* In the win over George Mason, the Jaspers forced a season-high 25 turnovers and rank 15th nationally with a MAAC-best 15.9 forced turnovers per game and are 20-10 when turning the opposition over at least 20 times since Masiello took over the program prior to the 2011-2012 season.
* Manhattan turned Fairfield over 23 times in each meeting and has now forced the opposition at least 16 turnovers on 16 occasions, including at least 20 four times.

* In the win over Morgan State, Richards converted a career-high seven three pointers en route to registering 28 points with seven caroms.
* A 2015-2016 All-MAAC Preseason Second Team selection, Richards was the hero in the first win of the year, a 69-67 come-from-behind triumph over George Mason, thanks to banking in a jumper with 1.2 seconds to play after earlier becoming the 37th member of the school's 1,000-point club. He recently passed former teammate Emmy Andujar for 10th place and currently has 1,407 points.
* From long range, Richards has converted at least three triples in 61 of his 125 games - including at least four 34 times - and is the school's single-season (92-2015) and career (303) leader in threes. When he connects on four in a game, Manhattan is 24-10, including 18-7 over the last three seasons.
* In his career, Richards is averaging 11.0 ppg over 10 career games against Iona while shooting 42.9 percent (33-of-77) from the field, including 46.2 percent (30-of-65) from deep.
* Junior Rich Williams hit for double-digits (14 points) for the 20th time this season in the win at Quinnipiac and ranks among the MAAC leaders in scoring (14.2 ppg-15th), rebounding (6.1 rpg-11th), FT % (.788-13th) and defensive boards (4.6 drpg-7th).
* The duo of Richards and Williams became the first set of Jasper teammates to each notch 20 points in a game this year in the win at Morgan State and are averaging a combined 31.5 points per game (4th MAAC).

* In the backcourt, senior RaShawn Stores has a 2.1 assist/turnover ratio and is seventh in the MAAC with a 38.9 percent (37-of-95) conversion rate from long range while also averaging 8.0 points, 3.0 assists (11th MAAC) and 1.4 steals (8th MAAC) per game.
* Stores hit for a career-high matching 18 points in the win at Marist after scoring 18 points in the first meeting with the Red Foxes and has notched double-figures in the scoring column eight times.
* Stores has closed out wins at Quinnipiac with four-straight free throws over the final 7.1 seconds, at Marist with six-straight free throws in the final 1:14 and Niagara with four free throws over the final 11.9 seconds.
* This season, Stores (22-of-25) & Richards (25-of-27) are making good on 90.4 percent (47-of-52) on from the line in the last five minutes of 10-point games.
* Stores, a 2015-2016 All-MAAC Preseason Third Team selection, is shooting 39.7 percent (69-of-174) on threes after halftime for his career, including making good on 41.1 percent (44-of-107) since the start of last year. Stores also has a 3.0 assist/turnover ratio (77 assists/26 TO) over the last two years in the second half.
* Manhattan is 47-27 over the last three years when Stores, who was granted an extra year of eligibility on July 22, 2015 by the NCAA, starts including going 17-8 last year.
* Both Richards & Stores are the only MAAC student-athletes to have played in the last three MAAC title games and have been a part of 70 total wins, including going 8-1 during MAAC Tournament play.
* Junior Tyler Wilson, who helped energize the Jaspers' back-to-back 90-point performances in early January has registered a career-high 10 assists twice this season, including most recently in the victory at Morgan State.
* Wilson, who has led Manhattan in assists 21 times this season, also dished out 10, against one turnover, vs. Marist. His performance against the Red Foxes was the first double-figure outing by a Jasper student-athlete since Von Damien Green had 10 against Saint Peter's on January 30, 2002.
* On the year, Wilson has handed out at least six assists on 14 occasions is second in the MAAC in assists (5.2 apg) and steals (1.5 spg) while ranking third in assist-turnover ratio (1.9).
* Over his last six games, Wilson has 18 assists, against just three turnovers, while posting a 6.0 assist/turnover ratio with 10 steals.
* Sophomore Calvin Crawford has hit for double-figures in points nine times over his 18 games while establishing himself as a bonafide scoring threat.
* Crawford notched his first career double-double (15 points, 12 rebounds) at Saint Peter's after scoring a career-high 22 points at Monmouth.
* He has now scored at least 20 points three times and over his last six is averaging 14.2 ppg, 7.0 rpg and 2.2 bpg while shooting 55.0 percent (33-of-60) from the field.
* Crawford, who had 20 points and eight rebounds at Marist, is averaging 10.9 ppg and 4.7 rpg while shooting 49.3 percent from the field.
* Also over his last six games, Waterman is averaging 12.5 ppg and 7.5 rpg while shooting 47.5 percent (28-of-59) from the floor.
* Waterman has scored in double-figures in 13 of his last 17 and recently notched his second-straight double and his third of the year with 13 points and 12 rebounds in the win at Marist.
* He had his first double-double with 12 points and a career-high 13 caroms in the win over Siena after going for a career-high 23 points at EKU and has scored in double-digits 16 times with four double-figure rebounding performances.
* Waterman, who scored 22 points against Columbia, ranks among the league leaders in scoring (11.2 ppg-27th), rebounding (6.1 rpg-10th), FG % (.484-8th), offensive boards (2.0 orpg-12th) and defensive boards (4.1 drpg-12th).
* Since returning to Riverdale, Masiello has led the Jaspers to a pair of MAAC Titles as well as a pair of 20-plus win campaigns. In his first tenure, he was a part of two MAAC Championships and three 20-plus win seasons. All told, Masiello has been a member of four of the five Manhattan MAAC Championship teams and five of the Jaspers' 12 20-win seasons in accruing a 174-104 record.
* In his 20th season as either a player or a coach, Masiello has a career collegiate record of 452-214, including 331-186 on the sidelines, with one National Title, two National Championship appearances, two Final Four appearances, six Elite Eight berths, eight conference championships, 13 NCAA Tournament appearances and 15 20-win seasons.
KEY MANHATTAN MATCH-UPS
Focus - This is one of the biggest rivalries in college basketball so emotions will be high at the onset. Manhattan will have to draw upon its big-game experiences over the last few seasons and maintain its trademark poise and precision.
Defend A.J. - In the first meeting, the Jaspers limited A.J. English into just 1-of-8 shooting, including 1-of-7 from long range, and will need to continue to do a good job on him defensively.
Defense - Manhattan pressured Iona into just 10 turnovers in the last meeting and will need to do a better job at turning over the Gaels.

DEFENSE YIELDS RESULTS
The Jaspers recorded their first season sweep of a MAAC team against Quinnipiac thanks to posting a 63-59 victory last weekend thanks to recording 11 steals that led to an 18-11 advantage in points off turnovers.
HIGH FIVE
In the first win over Quinnipiac, Manhattan had five players score in double-figures for the second time this season thanks to notching second-half season-highs in points (53), FG% (.708) and 3-pt FG% (.833) .
THE BEST AROUND
The aforementioned second-half shooting performance was the best by a Jasper squad since converting on 72.2 percent after halftime of an 111-84 win over LIU Brooklyn on November 26, 2001.

Manhattan is 35-9 over the last three years when limiting the opposition to less than 70 points.
DRIVE TO THE TITLE
The Jaspers claimed their second-straight MAAC Championship a year ago thanks to outscoring the opposition by 14.3 ppg in the three-game event while posting a +6.3 margin on the glass and limiting opposing shooters to a miniscule 38.0 percent (60-for-158) conversion rate, including 22.0 percent (11-for-50) from distance, while winning all three games by double-figures.

Masiello was named at one of the “25 Most Intriguing Coaches” in college basketball by Yahoo and has twice been named as the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association Coach of the Year (2012 | 2014).
110TH SEASON OF JASPERS BASKETBALL
In its 110th season, the Manhattan men's basketball program boasts a 1339-1185 overall record (280-291 MAAC) in 35 seasons as a conference member. The Jaspers' storied men's basketball team was established in 1904-05 and took a two-year hiatus during the 1943-44 and 1944-45 season due to World War II.
WHAT'S A JASPER?
The unique nickname of Manhattan College's athletic teams, the Jaspers, comes from one of the College's most memorable figures, Brother Jasper of Mary, F.S.C., who served as the College's athletic director in the late 19th century. One of the greatest achievements of Brother Jasper was that he brought the then little-known sport of baseball to Manhattan College and became the team's first coach. Since Brother Jasper was also the Prefect of Discipline, he supervised the student fans at Manhattan baseball games while also directing the team itself. During one particularly warm and humid day when the college was playing a semi-pro baseball team called the Metropolitans, Brother Jasper noticed the Manhattan students were becoming restless and edgy with the team coming to bat in the seventh inning of a close game. To relieve the tension, Brother Jasper called timeout and told the students to stand up and stretch for a few minutes until the game resumed. Since the College annually played the New York Giants in the late 1880's and into the 1890's at the old Polo Grounds, the Manhattan College practice of the “seventh inning stretch” spread into the major leagues, where it has now become a time-honored custom practiced by millions of fans annually.
