Forster, Athanailos Open Weekend’s Competition at Raleigh Relays and Ramapo Invitational

RALEIGH, NC/MAHWAH, NJ – The Manhattan University Men's and Women's Track and Field program is back in action, splitting between the Raleigh Relays at North Carolina State University and the Ramapo Invitational at Ramapo College. Lewis Forster led off the weekend for the Jaspers yesterday afternoon, following up last week's personal best with another, throwing 62.97m in the Men's Javelin to finish 6th overall in the event out of the second flight.

"Lewis and Pete got us off to a great start in our second weekend of the Outdoor season with a personal best for Lewis in a strong field and a top 3 finish for Pete" said Director of Cross Country, Track and Field Kerri Inman.

Peter Athanailos kicked off the Ramapo Invitational with a season's best mark of 14.78m to finish 3rd.

Other noteworthy performances from Raleigh include another sub-15 effort in the women's 100m Hurdles by Bella Sing, running 14.89, a 58.22 effort by Ellianne Fernandez in the women's 400m and an outdoor best of 49.06 for Darion Lopez in the men's 400m.

The Jaspers will return to competition tomorrow at both the Raleigh Relays as well as the Ramapo Invitational.
