CORAL GABLES, FL—Coming off a medal-packed indoor championship season, the Manhattan University Men's and Women's Track and Field programs began their respective outdoor campaigns at the University of Miami's Hurricane Invitational on Friday.

"Today was a strong start for our season opener. We enjoyed a few new personal bests and strong placement in our first few weekend events," said Director of Cross Country and Track & Field Kerri Inman. "We came down here to take advantage of the great weather and competition, and so far, I am seeing us capitalize in important ways."

On the men's side, Alex Kristeller finished second place in the hammer throw with 66.43 meters. Paul Brennan finished in fourth place with a personal best of 63.70 meters. Peter Athanailos rounded out the hammer with an eighth-place finish and personal best.

While Bella Sing started the women's weekend with a seasonal best of 5.49 meters in the Long Jump, this was her strongest series of the year, with each jump surpassing her indoor season's best.

In the men's Long Jump, Alex Bilello finished sixth with a personal best jump of 7.11 meters, his first time cracking the seven-meter mark. Thomas Dubnov Raz was right behind in seventh place, jumping 6.99 meters.
