HAMDEN, CT - The Jaspers won a much needed game against the Iona Gaels on Thursday evening inside its home digs by a slim margin. Manhattan currently sits tied for ninth in the MAAC standings roughly two and a half weeks ahead of 2025 MAAC Championships. With the victory, the Jaspers broke a three-game losing skid, and have won two of its last eight games. Leading the charge in Thursday's nailbiter, was senior Petra Juric, who blocked a potential tying bucket with 18 seconds remaining. Juric, who did not start in three previous games, returned to the starting five with graduate Leyla Ozturk out of the lineup, and put a season-high 20 points on the board. Additionally, junior guard Brianna Davis was the other Jasper who tacked double-digit points to the scoreboard. Saturday will feature two top defensive teams in the MAAC, and will be the lone meeting of the regular season.
Scouting The Opposition:
•Quinnipiac is coached by 30th year head coach Tricia Fabbri. She currently sits in 24th place among active D1 coaches with 537 career victories.
•Inside M&T Bank Arena, the Bobcats have fallen in just 34 games since 2012-13, and sit with an 80.7 winning percentage.
•The Bobcats are coming off a 74-66 victory over Manhattan's most recent opponent, the Iona Gaels last Saturday afternoon in New Rochelle. The victory featured a 22-point performance from Gal Raviv, in the come from behind win.
•First Year guard Gal Raviv leads the Bobcats by a +7 margin in scoring average, averaging 17.5 points-per-game. Additionally, she leads the team with 104 assists.
•Sophomore forward Anna Foley leads the team with 24 blocks, and 32 blocks.
•Raviv and her teammate Jackie Grisdale lead the MAAC averaging 36.6 minutes-per-game. The duo combine to average 28.4 points-per-game.
•As a unit, the Bobcats rank second in the MAAC averaging 68.6 points-per-game, and hold its opponents to a second best 58.1 points-per-game.
•Last season, the two programs split in its respective buildings. The latter contest, was a 72-66 Manhattan victory in overtime.
