Manhattan Men's Lacrosse Travels to Buffalo

RIVERDALE, N.Y. – Manhattan men's lacrosse prepares for two games this week, one on the road and the next at home.

This week, Manhattan (1-6, 1-1 MAAC) will travel up north to Buffalo, N.Y. to take on Canisius (2-6, 0-2 MAAC) and then will return home later in the week to host Quinnipiac (6-0, 2-0 MAAC).

The first game of the week will take place at Canisius. The all-time series between Manhattan and Canisius has the Jaspers trailing 15-6. Manhattan is on a five-game win streak over the Griffins. The Jaspers are 1-8 against Canisius on the road. Last time out, Manhattan played Canisius on March 25, 2023, with a 14-9 win. 

The Golden Griffins will be coming into this game on a four-game losing streak, most recently against Marist, dropping the match 20-16.

Later in the week, the Jaspers return home to host the undefeated Bobcats on Wednesday. The all-time series between Manhattan and Quinnipiac has the Jaspers trailing 13-2. Manhattan is on a two-game win streak over the Bobcats. The Jaspers are 1-6 against Quinnipiac at home. Last time out, Manhattan played Quinnipiac on March 29, 2023, with a 12-5 win.

The Bobcats will have to face the Red Foxes in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., before coming to Gaelic Park. However, the Bobcats are coming into the game off a 14-8 domination against Wagner.

In the last game against Sacred Heart, eight Jaspers scored a goal. Kyle Gucwa finished with a team-high four goals, one assist, and one ground ball. James Basile led the way in assists with three. Gucwa is leading the Jaspers in goals this season, tallying 15.
