RIVERDALE, N.Y. - The Manhattan women's basketball team (17-8, 10-6 MAAC) travels to Mount St. Mary's for a Thursday night showdown before returning home to host Fairfield on Saturday at 2 p.m.
This week, the Jaspers return to the court ranked fourth in the MAAC standings. Manhattan is on a two-game win streak.
The Preview: The all-time series between Manhattan and Mount St. Mary's has the Jaspers leading 3-0. Manhattan is on a three-game win streak over the Mountaineers. The Jaspers are 1-0 against Mount St. Mary's on the road. Last time out, Manhattan played Mount St. Mary's on Feb 3, 2024, with a 67-60 victory. Petra Juric scored 16 points and nine rebounds for Manhattan leading the way to victory.
The all-time series between Manhattan and Fairfield has the Jaspers trailing 23-13. Manhattan is on a one-game losing streak against the Stags. The Jaspers are 8-9 against Fairfield at home. Last time out, Manhattan played Fairfield on Dec 18, 2023, with an 82-58 loss. Leyla Ozturk recorded 13 points along with five rebounds for Manhattan.

Fairfield is receiving votes in the AP and USA TODAY Sports/WBCA NCAA Division I Top 25 Coaches Polls. Fairfield is first in the league with a 24-1 overall mark and a 16-0 conference record. The Stags lead the league in several categories including offense (73.8), defense (54.2), scoring margin (19.6), and field goal percentage (47.7). Meghan Andersen leads the MAAC in scoring at 16.4 points per game, while Janelle Brown is fifth with 14.1 points per game.
Leading the Way: Ines Gimenez Monserrat led Manhattan with 14 points in the win over Canisius. Jade Blagrove added 13 points. Gimenez Monserrat leads Manhattan with 10.6 points per game and Petra Juric is second with 10.4 points per game and 8.0 rebounds per game.
By the Numbers: Manhattan enters the week ranked first in the MAAC in free throw percentage (76.6), first in blocked shots (3.84), second in assists (14.44), second in scoring defense (56.2), second in opponent field goal percentage (38.3). The Jaspers also rank 23rd in the NCAA in scoring defense.
