RIVERDALE, N.Y. - Head Coach Dave Miller and the Manhattan baseball team are ready to step up to the plate on Friday as it opens the 2024 campaign on the road at No. 18 Alabama.
The Friday-Sunday series will be aired live on the SEC Network +. Fans can also follow along with live stats.
All-Time Series
The three-game series at Sewell-Thomas Stadium will mark the first time in school history the Jaspers will face the Crimson Tide.
The Opponent
Alabama finished last season 43-21 and advanced to the NCAA Super Regionals.
Non-Conference Outlook
The Jaspers have 28 games slated against non-conference opponents this season. Manhattan does not play at home until March 15, when it hosts Hofstra in a three-game series.
A Look Back
Manhattan finished the 2023 season with an overall record of 22-34, including a MAAC postseason win. Last year, Manhattan won 12 road games and one neutral match-up.
Preseason Nods
Graduate student Frankie Marinelli was named to the All-MAAC Preseason Team as a utility player. He appeared and started in 54 games. He batted .311, recorded 65 hits, crossed home 53 times, registered nine doubles, one home run, 30 RBI and a team-leading 47 walks to go along with 23 stolen bases. In the MAAC Preseason Polls that were also released, the Jaspers were picked to finish fifth with one first-place vote.
