RIVERDALE, NY. - The Manhattan College women's basketball team dropped a 71-59 decision to Quinnipiac on the road.

"I was disappointed our defense did not travel, credit to Quinnipiac on hitting some shots down the stretch," said head coach Heather Vulin. "I really liked how our post players Petra and Jade battled throughout the game."

Petra Juric finished with 22 points and four rebounds for Manhattan. Jade Blagrove recorded a career-high 18 points including nine rebounds, while Ines Gimenez Monserrat scored 11 points.

Manhattan (9-3, 2-2 MAAC) started great in the first quarter with a four-point lead (15-11), shooting 40 percent from the field and 60 percent from the 3-point line. In the second quarter, the Jaspers were limited to 10 points giving Quinnipiac (5-6, 3-0 MAAC), the chance to take control of the game, which they converted on, scoring 27 points in the quarter.

Manhattan managed to score 22 points in the paint, grabbed 32 rebounds, and shot 92.9 percent from the free throw line, but it wasn't enough to hold off the Bobcats.

Quinnipiac was consistent in the second half scoring 52 points in the paint, 19 bench points, and grabbing 29 rebounds. Karson Martin led the Bobcats in scoring with 19 points. Anna Foley and Grace LaBarge added 13 points and five rebounds apiece in a home victory.
