BUFFLAO, N.Y. – In their first day in upstate New York, the Jaspers fell to the Griffins 3-0. The final set scores were 25-15, 25-22, and 25-13.

The Jaspers lost all three sets today against the Griffins, coming closest in the second, scoring within three points in the second.

After dropping the first set by 10, the Jaspers rallied in the second, putting up a fight against the Griffins. The Jaspers scored the first three points of the set, all three off attack errors by the Griffins. The Jaspers used this early lead to carry them through the middle of the set. The Griffins eventually took the lead from the Jaspers after a four-point run, putting them up by one, 12-13. The Jaspers kept the score within one to two points for a majority of the set; however, the Griffins went on a five-point run to give them a wide enough lead to escape the Jaspers.

The final set saw the Jaspers fall behind by more than ten points, unable to catch up to the Griffins' lead.

Leading the Jaspers tonight was Dominique Velarde, picking up 18 digs for the Jaspers.
Manhattan will return to action on Sunday, September 24th, at 1:00 p.m. to face Niagara in Niagara Falls, N.Y.
