QUEENS, N.Y. – Manhattan's offense exploded for seven runs on Wednesday in a 7-2 win at St. John's.

Seven of the nine hitters for Manhattan (7-33) that started scored, and five different players drove in runs. Mollie Charest recorded a complete game for the Jaspers to pick up her second win of the season.

The Jaspers started the scoring in the top of the first. Gabriella Mazzotta scored the game's first run on an error. Lauren Rende came around to score when Marika Deemer singled to center.

In the third, Manhattan pushed five runs across to extend the lead to 7-0. Kaitlyn Flood scored the first run of the frame as Maddy Weir singled to center field. After a pitching change, Lily Fish doubled to bring in Deemer. Two batters, Lindsey Hoag laced a double of her own to make it 6-0. Fish scored the final run of the inning on a Mazzotta single.

Charest's only blemish on the mount came in the sixth inning. St. John's (17-26) got two runs back when Sydney Totarsky tripled to right with two outs in the inning. Charest worked around base runners, but the junior did not walk a batter and struck out six.

Mazzotta went 2-4 with two RBI. Deemer, Weir, Fish, and Hoag drove in runs. Fish had a game-high three hits. Four other Jaspers had multiple hits. It is the first time this season that Fish had three hits in a game. Wednesday was the fifth multi-RBI game for Mazzotta.

The Jaspers return to action on Saturday for a doubleheader with Iona at Gaelic Park starting at 12 p.m.
