The Jaspers are coming off a doubleheader sweep at the hands of Canisius on Sunday.
Jasper softball is on a milestone watch right now. Gabriella Mazzotta is close to joining Lauren Rende in the 100-hit club. Mazzotta currently sits three away from the century mark. During the year, the senior outfielder is batting .288 with 15 RBI.
Kaitlyn Flood hit .500 last week and has a hitting streak of four games. Flood is third on the team in runs scored with 15 this season.
Freshman Makayla Veneziale is fourth in the MAAC in strikeouts per seven innings at 7.1.
St. John's is coming off a 2-1 weekend at Georgetown. The Red Storm sit at 17-25 overall on the year and 2-3 in their last five games. London Jarrard paces the Red Storm offense in average, slugging percentage, runs scored, hits, RBI, doubles, home runs, total bases, and triples. Carolina Zamudio owns a 3.56 ERA, which is the best on the pitching staff for St. John's. The sophomore is 7-4 on the year.
Iona sits at 15-24-1 overall and 7-5 in MAAC play. The Gaels split their weekend doubleheaders against Fairfield and Quinnipiac. Jamie Sheeran and Kara Zazzaro collected MAAC Weekly Honors this past week. Sheeran was named Player of the Week, and Zazzaro collected Pitcher of the Week honors. Sheeran had a 1.385 slugging percentage last week and has 16 homers this season. Zazzaro went 2-0 last week with a 0.47 ERA.
Marist enters the week 20-25 overall and a MAAC record of 7-5. Prior to welcoming the Green and White to Poughkeepsie on Sunday, they will take on Quinnipiac in a doubleheader on Saturday. Last week, the Red Foxes were swept by Mount St. Mary's and took one of two games off Rider. Haley Ahr's bat has been the top bat for the Red Foxes, posting a torrid average of .397 with a team-high 54 hits, 14 two-baggers, and 39 RBI.
