ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. – The quest to hoist the MAAC Championship trophy for the Manhattan women's basketball team continues Friday afternoon on the court of Jim Whelan Boardwalk when the Jaspers take to the court against Niagara at 1 p.m.
In order to get here, the Jaspers showed as much heart and grit as they did in the first round against Saint Peter's to knock off, for the second year in a row, removing Quinnipiac from the tournament, 50-43.
That heart continued to show, behind another double-double from Petra Juric alongside a 15-point second half from Dee Dee Davis after being forced out of the first half with two fouls in the first four minutes of play.
Much like the Bobcats, Niagara also swept the Jaspers in the regular season including utilizing a 33-point final quarter to come from behind to win 74-40, a loss that the Jaspers will be keen on avenging.
