RIVERDALE, N.Y. –The Jaspers fall to Fairfield today in Fairfield, Conn. The final set scores were 25-20, 25-17, and 25-16.
The Jaspers lost all three sets today against the Stags, coming closest in the first set, scoring within five points.
The Jaspers started the first set off strong, scoring the first two points and then proceeding to led the stags until a three point Stag run. The Stags would slowly build up their lead to as much as eight this set. The Jaspers made a push to cut the lead to four with a five point run, spearheaded by Elenoa Sing. However it would not be enough to take the set, coming within one point of the lead.
After dropping the first set by five points, the Jaspers dropped the next two sets and then eventually the match.
Leading the Jaspers tonight was Maike Bertens and Mikalah Curran, tallying 13 and 12 kills for the Jaspers. Sarah Emmons led the Jaspers in assists today, setting up 32 for her teammates.
Manhattan will return to action on Saturday, November 4th, at 1:00 p.m. to face Iona University in New Rochelle, N.Y.
