RIVERDALE, N.Y. – The Jaspers fell 3-2 to Quinnipiac today at Draddy. The final set scores were 24-26, 25-17, 18-25, 25-17, and 15-8.

The Jaspers won the first set by a small margin of victory over the Bobcats today, beating them 26-24. However, they were unable to keep up with the Bobcats' advancing offense, trading sets until the Bobcats eventually emerged victorious in the fifth set.

In the first set, the Jaspers and the Bobcats went back and forth, with six lead changes. After playing catch-up for most of the set, the Jaspers reclaimed the lead from the Bobcats with a three-point run, putting them up 18-17. With both teams tied at 24, the Jaspers dug in and won the set after scoring two straight points, both through attacks by the Jaspers.

After dropping the second set, the Jaspers were able to win the third with a much more comfortable margin of victory. Despite a Bobcat-favored start to the set, the Jaspers fired off a massive 12-3 run to put them up by eight points. Although the Bobcats answered back with a six-point run, the Jaspers eventually secured the victory with a four-point run at the end.

The final two sets saw the Jaspers fall behind early, allowing the Bobcats to slowly amass a lead against them.

Leading the match in kills today was Camila Gomez, slamming down 20 against the Bobcats, three more than the Bobcats' highest performer. Sarah Emmons led the team in assists today, dishing out 49 for her teammates, a new personal record. Dominique Velarde and Mikalah Curran both contributed 13 digs each, with Gomez not far behind with 10.
