Rough Fourth Quarter Dooms Jaspers on the Road Against Niagara

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. – A rough fourth quarter saw the Purple Eagles outscore Manhattan 33-9, and come away with a 74-70 win.

Manhattan falls to 6-11 and 3-5 in the MAAC while Niagara improves to 8-9 and 7-2 in the MAAC.

Manhattan was in control for the majority of the game, steadily growing a lead that got as large as 20 entering the third quarter, 61-41.

Niagara would not go away, cutting the lead to 13, 63-50, early in the final period, and chipping it down even further, forcing the Jaspers to call a timeout up five with three minutes and change left. The Purple Eagles grabbed the lead with less than two minutes left, 68-67.

The dagger came with less than a minute left when Niagara's Angel Parker connected on a jumper to make the score 70-67.

Brazil Harvey-Carr finished with a double-double, putting in work on the glass with 11 rebounds and the same amount of points.

The Jaspers will stay in Buffalo, with their next matchup being at Canisius on Saturday at 1 p.m.
