RIVERDALE, N.Y. – The Jaspers prepare for their last road meet of the regular season against the Fairfield Stags. The meet will take place on Saturday at 1 p.m. in Fairfield, Conn.
After a five-week hiatus, the Jaspers will go up against the Stags on the road in Fairfield, Conn. Last time out, the Jasper men took down Saint Peter's 112-56, and the women won 98-66. The Stags will be coming into this meet after not competing in a regular in-conference meet since November 20, where they placed sixth in the Terrier invitational. The last time the Jaspers went up against the Stags was last January when the men and the women both fell to Fairfield.
The most recent meet the Jaspers competed in that produced results was the ECAC Winter Championships, where the men's and the women's teams performed exceptionally well. For the men, Joe Brennan placed third in the 100-yard breaststroke for individual races with a final time of 55.97, only .77 behind second. Brennan also broke the school record in the 50- and 100-yard breaststroke with times of 25.58 and 55.82.
For the women, Kyla Guilfoil and Abbey Mink both broke school records. Guilfoil broke her own school record for the 50-yard backstroke with a time of 27.84. Mink broke Manhattan's 50-yard freestyle record with a time of 24.70. She also broke her 50-yard butterfly record with a 26.35 on the first split of the 100-fly. Mink broke the school's record for the 100-yard butterfly (57.54).
