RIVERDALE, N.Y. – Manhattan seeks a third straight win on Thursday when the Jaspers visit Sacred Heart. It is game three of four away from home for the Jaspers.

Manhattan has won back-to-back games, against St. Francis Brooklyn and Delaware State, after dropping the season-opener against Wagner. Against Delaware State on Monday, the Jaspers got a goal in each half to secure the 2-0 win. Sami Derrico got the first goal of the game in the 13th minute. Corrine Jackson supplied the insurance in the 87th when she bent in a corner kick.

The Jasper defense has been stellar thus far, holding their opponents to a total of 16 shots, with eight of those being on target, while only conceding the one goal to Wagner in the opening match of the season.

Kim Mains has recorded back-to-back shutouts and has only allowed one goal through three games. Defensively, the Jaspers limited the Hornets to four shots, two on goal.

Sacred Heart enters Thursday at 1-3-1 and is coming off a 3-1 loss to Fairfield on Sunday. Morgan Bovardi has scored twice this season, which leads the Pioneers. The one win came against St. John's, taking down the Red Strom 2-0 in the club's first road match of the 2022 season.
