Jaspers Prepare for Busy Week

RIVERDALE, N.Y. - Manhattan volleyball faces a four-match week this week after starting its season last Saturday for a pair of games at Maryland Eastern Shore. The Jaspers place once midweek before heading to Columbia for the Big Apple Tournament. 

Saturday marked the first two games for Jaspers' new head coach Mauro Miletic. Jaspers fought hard but ultimately fell to Hampton and UMES, making their record 0-2. The leader of the offense was Julia Menocal. The junior had 11 kills against Hampton and nine against UMES. 

Wednesday, Sept. 7th, is the game before the Jaspers enter The Big Apple Tournament. They will face Central Connecticut State in New Britain, Conn. CCSU is currently 3-3, with their last two games being wins against Saint Peter's and Columbia. 

Friday, Sept. 9th, marks the first match in the Big Apple Tournament, where the Jaspers will face St. Francis Brooklyn at 4:30 p.m. St. Francis Brooklyn is currently 3-4 and is coming off a win against Temple last Saturday. 

Saturday, Sept. 10th, will be a doubleheader for Manhattan. At 1 p.m., Manhattan will play their second match in the Tournament against Columbia. Columbia is currently 1-2 and will face Manhattan after facing Lafayette on Friday. The day's second game will take place at 5 p.m. against Lafayette, who is currently 1-2.
