POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Manhattan fell to Marist this afternoon as they near the end to their long stretch on the road. The Red Foxes won in straight sets by scores of 25-8 25-6, and 25-17.

Manhattan (0-8) had a hard time keeping up the Red Foxes in the first two sets of the game.

The third set showed some promise when the Jaspers were able to obtain an early lead off a kill by Kelly Markowski knotting the game up at 2-2. After this however, Marist managed to retake the lead and maintain this lead until Manhattan answered back with a four point run off the momentum of a kill by Julia Menocal, making the game 10-11. Unfortunately this would be the last time this set that the Jaspers came close to taking the lead.

The leaders of the game were Menocal with 10 kills and eight digs, and the freshman Teresa Garza with 10 digs of her own.

The Jaspers continue their long stretch on the road again tomorrow, Sept. 18th at 3:00pm against the Siena Saints in Loudonville, NY.
