RIVERDALE, N.Y. – The final regular-season series for Manhattan baseball awaits this weekend against Iona, Thursday – Saturday. The Jaspers are currently tied for the sixth in the MAAC, the last spot in the MAAC Championship Field.
Last week, the men's lacrosse team fell to Vermont 15-3 in the Opening Round of the NCAA Tournament. The Jaspers were making their first NCAA appearance in 20 years.
The women's rowing team finished ninth at the MAAC Championships on Sunday. Lauryn Hughes was named Second Team All-MAAC. The Jaspers also competed at the Dad Vail Regatta in Philadelphia on Friday and Saturday.
The men's and women's track and field teams went to William & Mary for the IC4A/ECAC Championships. The Jaspers won gold in the men's hammer—RJ Decker—and the women's discus—Alexandra Preckajlo. The men's 4x100 relay team also picked up a bronze medal, with the fastest by a Jasper team since at least 2010.
Baseball visited Niagara and took two-of-three from the Purple Eagles. The Jaspers won on Friday, 19-12, and Saturday, 9-4, before falling 9-2 in the series finale on Sunday.
