LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. – Manhattan started its stretch of three-straight on the road to close the regular season with a 19-9 loss at Siena on Saturday.
Siena (9-7, 5-2 MAAC) built a 9-4 lead in the second quarter with three goals in a row inside the first three minutes of the second stanza. Manhattan (9-6, 3-3) answered with goals from Annie Freshour, Reagan Mullins, and Meghan Rodino to get back within two, 9-7, with 8:41 to play before halftime.
The Saints would score the ensuing six goals of the contest to build its lead to 15-7 with 7:10 to play in the third. Mary Soures scored the final four of the stretch to push her season total to 56.
Olivia Cruthers stopped the run for the Jaspers with her fourth of the season with 6:01 left in the third. Over the final 21 minutes, Siena would score four of the game's last five goals.
Jillian Reiner, who assisted on Rodino's goal in the second, finished a trio of assists for the Jaspers. Rodino, Mullins, and Julianna Iovine finished with two goals each for Manhattan.
Manhattan is back in action on Wednesday, April 20, at 3 p.m. at Fairfield.
