Manhattan Tops Hofstra on the Road

HEMPSTEAD, NY. – Manhattan scored early and often to defeat the Hofstra Pride 9-4 on Tuesday afternoon for the Jaspers' third straight win.
 
Manhattan (4-7) led 2-0 after the first, thanks to a pair of RBI singles with two outs from Harrison Treble and Jack Lynch
 
Manhattan added seven more runs in the final five innings of the game. 
 
Peter Durocher singled up the middle to plate David Bermudez in the fourth inning. Matt Padre then scored after a Pride error.
 
Trevor Santos singled up the middle in the top of the sixth to score Lynch and Durocher to make it 7-2. Jack Lynch added to his impressive performance for the day with a single through the right side of the field to bring in Bermudez.
 
Hofstra (4-4) got two back in the bottom of the fourth before making it a nine-four game with a pair of runs in the ninth. Will Kennedy connected to score two RBIs for the Pride.
 
Lynch went 4-for-5 with three RBIs for the Jaspers. Treble added two hits and an RBI for the Green and White. Pete Durocher had two hits and two RBIs. 

Connor O'Neil started for the Jaspers, going three innings, and added one strikeout. 
 
On Saturday, Manhattan returns to the diamond for a three-game series against St. John's. The first pitch is scheduled for Friday at 3 p.m in Queens, NY.
