RIVERDALE, N.Y. – The Manhattan men's and women's basketball teams compete at the 2022 MAAC Championships in Atlantic City, NJ, this week. While at the same time, the men's and women's lacrosse teams continue their regular seasons with a pair of games. Softball competes in a five-game stint in Santa Barbara, CA, while baseball has a full four-game schedule this week. Manhattan is in Daytona Beach, FL, for the Sacred Heart Spring Invitational, and the track field teams close their seasons at the NCAA Championships in Birmingham, AL. 

The women's lacrosse team defeated Central Connecticut State 18-5 on Wednesday in Riverdale this past week. In the win, Grace Lipponer had four goals and three assists. Meghan Rodino added four goals and two assists. Ashley Gambardella stopped four shots to earn the win for the Jaspers. On Sunday, the Jaspers defeated La Salle ten to eight on the road. 

The men's lacrosse team fell to St. Johns's nine to seven on Saturday in Queens, NY.  
In defeat, Jake Nicolosi tallied a hat trick, and Brendan Krebs finished the day with 13 stops for the Jaspers.

After a loss and win in MAAC play last week, the men's basketball team returns to action. The Jaspers fell to Saint Peter's 73-51 on Tuesday in Riverdale. On Thursday, Manhattan defeated conference leader Iona 74-72 at home. Senior guard Jose Perez hit the game-winning shot with just under two seconds to play. The Bronx native scored a game-high 27 points, contributed six assists, and added four rebounds. 

The women's basketball team added a pair of overtime wins last week. The Green and White edged out Quinnipiac 73-69 in Riverdale. Then on Saturday, the Jaspers defeated Marist 68-60 in Poughkeepsie, NY. Dee Dee Davis finished with a game-high 22 points and two rebounds. Courtney Warley added 11 points, 13 rebounds, and three blocks.

Last week, the women's track and field team's competed at the ECAC IC4A Championships in Boston, MA. Alexandra Preckajlo finished second in the shot put with a best of 13.97m. Nina Bjorkman was 10th after posting a 13.01m.

The Manhattan baseball team won two in a three-game series against the FDU Knights in Teaneck, NJ. Jack Lynch and David Bermudez added a pair of home runs for the Jaspers. 

On Thursday, the softball team held their home opener against Hartford and dropped both games of the doubleheader. Lauren Rende added two hits for the Jaspers. Marika Deemer started the second game and secured two strikeouts.
