Canisius (6-2, 1-0 MAAC) led 4-3 after the first quarter. Annie Freshour got the first goal on the board for Manhattan (6-4, 0-1), with 13:51 remaining in the opening quarter. Lipponer supplied her first of three goals later in the quarter.
The teams combined for six goals in the second quarter. Meghan Rodino tallied two goals 16 seconds apart. The senior's second goal of the stanza tied the game at eight, with 4:04 remaining. Reagan Mullins added two goals, scoring her first with 2:07 left in the half, to take a 9-8 lead.
Canisius followed its four-goal first and second quarters with another four-goal quarter. Manhattan's Jillian Reiner scored with just over 10 minutes to play to take an 11-9 lead. The Griffs scored the first and the final two of the quarter. The Jaspers and Griffs would end the quarter tied at 12.
Mullins supplied the lone goal for Manhattan in the fourth quarter with 11:15 to play. Canisius scored two goals in the final fifteen to win 14-13. Both goals came inside the last seven minutes.
Lipponer's three goals bring her total to 36 on the season, putting the senior inside the top 30 nationally. Rodino scored a hat trick, and classmate Annie Freshour scored two for the Jaspers. Reiner finished the game with two points.
