RIVERDALE, N.Y. – A pair of solo home runs from Megan Hedlund was all Manhattan needed in a 2-0 win over St. John's on Tuesday.
 
The win is the fourth in a row for the Jaspers.
 
Hedlund homered in the second and fourth innings. Manhattan (5-12) also got a complete-game shutout from Ava Metzger.
 
In the second, Hedlund led off the inning with a solo shot to center. Hedlund came up with one away in the fourth and blasted another one over the centerfield fence.
 
Metzger (2-6), the reigning MAAC Rookie of the Week, struck out nine over her seven innings of work. The Freehold, N.J. native struck two in the first and settled in against Red Storm. Metzger did not allow a St. John's (5-20) hitter to reach third base.
 
Hedlund's homers were second and third of the season. Kaitlyn Flood went 2-for-2 for the Jaspers.
 
Manhattan returns to action on Sunday at Albany for a doubleheader scheduled for 1 and 3 p.m.
